2015

Happy New Year, friends.

Can you believe it's 2015? How is this humanly possible?

When I was in 6th grade, I calculated the year I would theoretically graduate from college if I did it in 4 years (check). I discovered that 2015 was the year. I remember thinking, HOLY SH*T!
(obviously I didn't think that... it was more like SHOOT!)
But anyway, HOLY SH*T I thought! In 2015 ,we will be living in the Jetson's world, riding around in little space ships! I didn't think it was possible, or that it could ever be real.
But alas, here we are... In 2015. Sadly, I'm not driving a space ship, but I drive a Saturn... Does that count?
This is it, folks. This is the year every thing changes

This year, I will graduate from college and get a big-girl J-O-B.

This year, I'm going to get my own place and be the one paying the bills.

This year, my parents will finally pass my cellphone bill off to me.

There is so much changing this year. I usually don't like change. We have a bad track record, change and me. I hated him when he was the reason my family moved to Tulsa and switched me into a brand new middle school, followed by a new high school the next year.

But now, I'm welcoming change with open arms. You see, for the first time in my life, I don't know what I am going to do. I haven't made a precise plan with boxes to check. I'm keeping myself totally open to whatever comes my way. I'm so ready to just leap for once and not have a blessed itinerary.

Everyone always says it's a "new year, new me", but I really don't want to look at 2015 that way. For the first time in my life, I'm happy with the me I am. I feel I'm the best possible version of me right now, and I wouldn't want any other Kelsey to go through the abundant changes that are set to take place.

Don't let this peppy post fool you, I. Am. Terrified. But my fear is diluted with a healthy dose of excitement. Together, this blend is setting the stage for a year I will never forget.

So friends, I say we give a big 'ole cheers to 2015. This is the year that every thing changes. This is the year I have been waiting my whole life for.

Cheers,
xo.

The Year in Review | 2014

This was a year of friendship.
Some old, some new... both appreciated.
This was a year of work. Hard, hard work.
Sometimes overwhelming, always rewarding.
This was a year of "work hard, play harder".
Never play too hard before work, though.
This was a year of love and new beginnings.
Wishing my friends an abundance of love and happiness 'til death do you part.
This was a year of travel and new adventures.
This was a year of family.
This was a year of finding myself. Of illuminating my path in life. Of finally loving me.
Thank you, 2014.

What are you doing after you graduate?

Have you thought about what you are doing after you graduate? What are your post-graduation plans? Do you know what you are doing after college? Don't you need to start looking for a job? What kind of job do you want? What is your career track?

Bitch, please.

Ask me one. more. time. I double dog dare you.

I am not a hostile or aggressive person in the slightest. In fact, I consider myself to be one of those peaceful, overly sensitive types (call me crazy). But I swear to the good Lord above, if any variation of the aforementioned questions are directed toward me again, I'm gonna lose my sh*t.

That was my attempt at sounding intimidating.

This is how I have answered these questions:
  1. I am exploring a couple of different options.
  2. I haven't made any concrete plans yet, but I am hopeful.
  3. I am figuring out what I want to specialize in.
  4. I have no f'ing clue.
Ok, so I haven't actually said that to anyone...yet.

Now, I do realize that I am a college senior who is on track to graduate. And most people are just trying to be polite and make conversation, but it drives me crazy! I am fully aware of the train I am on, and that the next stop is "jobville" (I made that up). But, I am not ready to get off the train yet! I haven't even packed.

Ok, being serious here. I do not know what I am going to do after I graduate. I am exploring a couple of different options, some easier and safer than others. But, I have faith that everything is going to work out. Truly. I am not stressed about it, so therefore you, bagger at the grocery store, should not be worried about it.

Trust me, I will let everyone and their mother know when plans have been made.
